Staten Island Republicans nominated their candidates for the 2004 races last night with some help from Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

But Democrat Kelvin Alexander says he doesn't expect his son's indictment to be issue in primary

The son of state Senate candidate and former NYPD Sgt. Kelvin Alexander was indicted on drug and weapons charges yesterday, but Alexander said he didn't expect the indictment to become an issue in the campaign.

"It will certainly not be a campaign issue as far as I'm concerned," said Republican candidate Al Curtis. "My prayers are with Kelvin and his son."
