In the end, the group throws its weight behind all the Democratic hopefuls

"Albany is broken. It is the worst, most dysfunctional form of government in the country," said Democratic candidate for state Senate Diane Savino, who argued that a vote for her opponent, Republican Al Curtis, would essentially be a vote for a party that has continually proved its priorities are upstate.
Curtis did not deny that the Republican party had a stranglehold on the Senate, but said his political affiliation is a positive thing for the Island.

"If you are going to provide for the community," he said, "you have to have a seat at the table."
